Will Star Jasmine grow well if next/near to Fargesia 'Asian Wonder' Bamboo

I have a south/west facing brick wall with a trellis fence higher up. I am looking to get some privicy and wanted to put some bamboo plants against the wall to creat a screen and grow Star Jasime over the trellis which would be near next to bamboo plants. Can the grow together, or is it best to keep them seperate?
