What tree is this?

Hello all,
I have been scouring the web to try to discover what tree this could be. I have just moved house and in the garden there are a row of these trees that are pleached, it looks as though the previous owners did not upkeep the tying in as they are quite lollipop like now. Could anyone help identify them please? I don’t think that they are a bay Laurel as they don’t have any smell, could they be a type of holly? They are definitely evergreen as they are in full leaf in early March. Thankyou!
