has anyone grown Carex oshimensis from seed? struggling to find a supplier and wonder if there a reason why? difficult to grow?

I would guess it doesn't come true from seed and has to be propagated vegetatively. There are a few Carex you can grow from seed tho.
I would buy a plant and divide it with a knife into tiny rooted pieces, much faster.

I have never seen ours self-seed. It propagates really well from division. It does much better in shade, and has more vibrant colour, although we have grown them in full sun.
