Laurel hedge

Im just curious. I have recently moved into a new house which has a large quantity of the laurel hedge at the back of the house. I need some privacy at the front of the house as its very open. Might sound ridiculous but if I were to snip a few branches of the hedge off and replanted  them out the front (it would be quite long row id need to plant) would it grow to a hedge or would i have to buy a new plant of laurel. Thanks. Any advice would be appreciated!!

You can take hardwood cuttings but they need a bit of tlc first and  think you too late to do it now.

Or just find a much more interesting and tidy plant to make a hedge with, Laurels are so ubiquitous and undeservedly so.

Totally agree with @amancalledgeorge ! It's bad enough to have a large laurel hedge at the back of your house, please don't add a new one at the front. Do consider alternatives.
