Frost damage : how to avoid

This may be teaching some of you to suck eggs, but I have answered a lot of posts this year from people who have had plants damaged or killed by frost. Whenever, you buy anything - and by the way always try and buy from an experienced nurseryman, not supermarket, who won't know, always ask if it is FULLY HARDY ie will not be damaged by frost. 
Be careful with FROST HARDY, this is a plant that will probably survive light frost of short duration, but suffer damage, especially to the leaves and upper part of the plant ie Fuchsia.
Also remember, frost damage is often exacerbated by wet. Cold & wet!
Everyone likes butterflies. Nobody likes caterpillars.
