Foxglove query

AnniDAnniD Posts: 11,944
Checking through the coldframe l have come across some foxgloves. They are pretty small, in 3 inch pots, but roots are showing through.
I'm wondering if l plant them out, will they flower this year ? I have usually planted much bigger plants out in Autumn for flowering the following Spring.
Many thanks for any advice  :)

  • I don't think they will as they need 2 years to reach flowering size. But you have had success with autumn planting and flowering the next spring so give it a go.

I have some similar. I am going to just drop them in gaps by the shrubs.  I suspect they will be small flowering and later than their brethren that got planted in Autumn.
