Using half whisky barrels for containers

I have several half whisky and wine barrels that I use for my shrubs and small trees. They are all in their natural state and I am wondering whether they would look better stained black or left as they are?

    Your choice surely? Take some pictures and do a bit of photo editing to help you decide.

    I use them and the only thing I do is staple plastic to the inside to help protect the wood a little, I use old compost bags. I think they look nicer natural but obviously it’s your choice.
