Flowering

Hi All, 

This is my first time on forum.  Can anyone help, I have a small courtyard in Brighton and all my plants are in sheltered area and in pots.

My plant are very happy but do not flower except the ginger lillies which get very big.  Can anyone advise what I should do to get flowers?

Most of your plants are very exotic palm-type plants, which don't flower very often, with the exception of the Canna's, which should flower annually (sometimes twice if you deadhead them after the first flowering).  Even if your Flax/Sago Palms, etc do flower, these will probably be quite unspectacular.

If you want vibrant, colourful flowers, then I should add some perennials or annuals to your garden.  If you simply want to encourage the above plants to flower, then a weekly liquid feed during Spring to Autumn, and making sure they are in full sunshine, will help.
