Silvery leaf on privet hedge

I'm not sure what is wrong with my privet hedge it's about 6 years old and 3ft tall, and last year started to show silvery leaves at one end of the hedge. I thought it was something to do with different soil and just hadn't grown as well. but it seems to be spreading down the hedge. There was a post back in 2018 which looked the same but had no conclusion to the problem. Any help would be great. Please see attached pictures

I suspect it could be Thrips damage from last year. Dry weather and stressed shrubs are more affected. Keep an eye on watering the shrubs this year, and making sure they get a thick layer of mulch to help lock in moisture.
