Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experience twisting the stems of a bay laurel to create more of a tree than a bush? I have seen it with indian Laurels but wondering how best to do it. Mine is roughly 3ft tall and planted in October/Nov and taken quite well.

Suspect that you would need to do this when very young and supple.
Depends how thick the trunk is now.

You have to wind the stem around a pole as it grows
... starting from just a few inches tall. You can’t bend an already grown stem. 😊

Fair one, is this the same if I want to twist each stem around each other, so like 2 or 3 stems entwined around each other?

Afraid so ... I had a friend who was head gardener at a stately home ... she showed me how she did it ... looks fantastic but each one takes a few years to create ...you have  start with small cuttings.

Thank you, looks like I will have to prune for a single stem straight laurel tree. May take a cutting later this year and try it as abit of a test and trial. Thank you very much for your help!
