.Good afternoon

I am looking at purchasing bamboo for screening on our decking , I would ideally like it to grown to 8 to 10 ft but would need to plant in containers but worried about it being invasive as hear lots of horror stories , Is the golden bamboo (phyllostachys aurea) safe to use in a residential garden as a screen and not be invasive  ?

Alternatively if anyone has any other  recommendations for any other tall evergreen plants that might offer a good screening  I would be grateful for any suggestions

Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give as do not want to order to wrong plants .

A photo always helps with the suggestions, also whether it full sun or part shade. Is the area reasonably sheltered or rather windy.
Bamboo isn't really a long term plant for pots. They need really generous ones so how big is your decked area?
