ID please

I took a few small cuttings a few months ago (flowering shrubs in public gardens) and put them in the window of my spare bedroom. This one survived and is now going a bit mad. I have re-potted it (was in a yogurt pot) and pinched out the top as it’s rather leggy. Perhaps it needs shortening more?
I have gone back to see if the original plant is still there but have a feeling the frost got it - or it was cut back. I can’t remember what the flowers were like 🙄
Any ideas what it is please?

It looks like lavatera. Next time, when you're asking permission to take a cutting, remember to ask the name of the plant😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I'm inclined to say Lavatera. If yes, then you will have a hard time keeping it on a windowsill, as it gets large. Mind you I can see a nice spot for it in that carpark down below ...

But Lavatera mostly have lobed leaves, so it might not be that.
  • Thanks for your reply.
It’s only on the windowsill as it’s a cutting taken a couple of months ago. It will go into the garden once hardened off (back - not where the cars are parked!)
    😊
