deep purple rose

  • Ebb Tide looks lovely.
I've just bought Burgundy Ice, but from a French nursery as I live in France, although quite a few places, such as Peter Beales Classic Roses, sell it in England. It's a floribunda, not very thorny, and is related to Iceberg. It isn't as full as Munstead Wood.

Hi there, I'm a newbie, does this repeat flower? This is so beautiful.

@Jack1974, it does repeat flower if you deadhead. I have one and it is a lovely colour  :)
  • Wow, I didn't realise there were so many beautiful purple roses out there! Might have to get more than one! Thanks everyone

Look what you have started Hilary 😆

Indigo is lovely @Cambridgerose12, it has been on and off my shortlist along with many others, but space being limited.. I have a good selection of old roses this year, definitely getting more into them. I also have the old David Austin rose The Prince, which starts off deep burgundy, turns red, then purple in heat:

Nollie, that is stunning! I have been looking for a cutting from this rose for the longest time. Even David Austin couldn’t help me. Please let me know if I could buy a few cuttings from you? Claire

@clairemcconwayvQl8fkdq I would love to send you a cutting but that is against plant biosecurity rules (Brexit!) and I’m not sure it would survive in the post from Spain, very sorry. But Trevor White in the UK now stocks it, out of stock at present but hopefully it will be back in autumn in bare root form. There are also a couple of Dutch and Belgian nurseries that have sorted out the plant passport thing and will send to the UK. Trevor White is probably your best bet though and they do sell fabulous quality roses.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

I have Ebb Tide. It's a glorious colour in real life as well as on a computer screen. Think mine came from CK Jones

ETA: sorry, just realised it's a zombie thread.

Oh, well that is not a problem if you are otherwise willing! …we could coordinate ahead of me making a trip to France or Ireland where I have family and you could send there where I could plant!

i didn’t know about TW, thank you, I will ask them. DA discontinued it years ago and couldn’t help.
