Us too 😊 but the birds never seem to show up when we want them to!

Had a marvellous day in the garden yesterday, planting, potting, sorting and being tracked by the robin. Decided to do the Birdwatch today and woke up to a deluge!  Its dark and the rain shows no sign of stopping so I may rethink the timing as I would be relaxing watching an empty garden just now

There was a bird singing its head off outside my bedroom late last night, I think probably a robin. Bet he wouldn't show up if I did the birdwatch.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Just had my daughter on the phone after she finished her hour with the grandkids. She wanted help identifying a bird which apparently was "sparrow sized, brown with a darker coloured back and yellow stripes on its wings". Any suggestions?

Thanks. That was one of my suggestions - she is going to look at some pictures to check.
