Yucca help please!

I recently got gifted a yucca plant (my friend got it from a plant shop) I've only really started getting into plants so I'm a novice at all this but really need some help! I haven't reported it yet even though some roots are now showing so I will do when I can get my hands on some yucca soil etc. But the tips of my yucca have started to go dry & crispy? I thought at first maybe I haven't watered it enough (as when I received it I just watered it a little bit as I know they don't do well with being over watered) so gave it a good water but that doesn't seem to of solved the problem, I'm really stuck to as what is causing this; help please!
