Bottle brush tree

Can anyone advise me as to when the best time is to prune our Bottle Brush tree.  I have read various information on various sites and just wondered if anyone has actually pruned one

You should prune them when you want once a year, preferably after flowering has faded. Usually in late summer.

It takes a full year for them to harden into pods so if you prune after flowering it makes the bush branch out further meaning more flowers the year after. On more mature shrubs you can take some long branches further back to balance the shape and keep it bushy.
