Beginner Bonsai Help

For Christmas, my parents got me a bonsai tree (mandarin orange) yay!

Except… I have zero idea how to keep it. I’ve been watering it, there’s been growth. Lots of growth. I’m amazed how much it can grow, I think it’s gone feral… haha

I have bonsai tools but I don’t know if the pruning is anything in particular.  I don’t have much experience with plants so I’m an absolute beginner.

Please help!!

I don't have enough patience to shape a bonsai, but I admire those who do. There is a video about how you can turn any tree into a bonsai, you might find something specific to your mandarin orange tree.
