Trimming pelargonium roots

Is it OK to trim the roots of a pelargonium in order for it to fit into a pot for overwintering. Many thanks.

    Yes,  you can just put them in any old pot of compost and keep dry ish.  I think some people don’t even put them in compost but wrap in newspaper.
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
