Foxglove flowering

I planted some foxglove seeds at the start of December which have now germinated.
Will these flower in 2021? What is it that determines if the plant is happy to flower or decides to wait another year?

Thanks! :)

Yes / no / maybe. [ ie nobody could be sure ]
Main determinant of whether they will flower, is size of the plants

From my experience of starting them in winter is some flowered the following late summer/autumn.
  • Ok thank you!
  •  Seeds from our existing foxgloves  germinated in the summer and then they will flower the following year. Germinating in December is interesting.
We did try sowing hollyhocks in the hope that they would flower this year but to no avail. Hopefully they will next year
  • You’d think the amount of sunshine we had in spring that they would have been happy!
I’m going to give them a little extra light from a lamp for the next few months so we shall see!

In the wild foxgloves often grow in shade/semi shade, under neath higher cover.
Giving them extra light now may not be the best idea.
In winter they normally just sit there doing nothing...waiting for spring.
