Downpipe Kit for Water butt

Hi again

I erected a 4x2 Halls Wall Garden lean too greenhouse earlier this year and am now planning to set up a water butt to collect rainwater from it's guttering.

I've bought the water butt and a downpipe kit.  The downpipe kit was bought  under the advisement of a Halls representative that the 4x2 has the same width of guttering as the 8x4 therefore bought said guttering from a seller of Halls products.on Amazon,.to find that the parts don't fit.

So my question is has anyone any tips as to how I can go about this really want to start saving rainwater lol.

have tried plumbing tape, duct tape but not having much joy.

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Does the guttering not fit on the greenhouse or does the water butt and pipework not fit on the guttering? A photo would be helpful.

Sorryy I should have said that it's the  parts that came with the downpipe kit that don't fit into the guttering.  The downpipe itself and the waterbutt itself are fine it's just securing the ends of the guttering for the water gather and getting the downpipe part to secured to the other end of the gutter to drip feed the butt.

    Looking for pix

    Thanks

You can buy those end stops in different sizes to fit the gutters (obviously measure them first) from most hardware stores and/or Amazon/Ebay. They don't usually come with the waterbutt kits. Just google on 'gutter end stops' etc and you'll see what I mean.

@BenCotto Here's a link to the item I purchased below
  • Hi Caz, may not be what you need but I installed a rainpod onto our house so it catches all the water and sends it too your water butts. the cool thing is you dont need to have the water butts next to your drain and you can move them where you like or wheres the most space. here is a pic

Make sure you have down pipes and butts on your house.  We have 3 greenhouses, 2 are 6 X8 and frankly the run off from rain is pathetic
