Rose root trim

peteSpeteS Posts: 963
Will it be OK to trim down the two extra long roots on my newly arrived 'Absolutely Fabulous' rose in order to make it fit into a 20 ltr pot (see photo). I'm hoping to be able to trim about half off them.

It would be better to use a bigger pot. Roses do best in the ground. I'm used to measuring pots by diameter, so I can't quite picture yours, but it looks like a well developed plant and roses do grow very deep roots.
