Spider id

Hi, could someone is this spider for me. I'm not sure if it's a false widow or not. I'm asking for my in-laws as they would like to know if it is one.
Sorry, photo's not great but it's the only one they took.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you.

Depending on its size, it might be this, the cupboard spider.

The poor thing seems to get a bad press, but I can vouch for the fact that most spiders can give a nasty nip.

I have been bitten more than once while pushing my fingers into a pair of leather gardening gloves.

Thank you pansyface, I have had false windows in my garden in Ireland. But with the photo the in-laws sent I can't really tell. They found this on their boat and my mother-in-law reacts badly to a lot of things, so she was just a bit worried if this was a false widow.
Thank you for th the link and your help.
