Sedge?

Hi,
I would be really grateful if someone could please tell me if this is sedge or possibly something more interesting.

    It looks more like an Iris to me. Iris foetidissima maybe, if it's just popped up?

    Oh that would be lovely! That’s what I was hoping someone might say. Thank you. Yes it seems to have just popped up, that’s why I feared it could be some kind of sedge.

    Agree with @LG_
    The flat leaves are Iris whilst leaves of....rushes are round, sedges have edges
