Flower Bed Advice

Hi guys hope you can help. We have just got our front garden done and have made a raised bed. I want to create a flower bed which is low maintenance. can anyone suggest some flowers/plants for this. Ideally plants that don’t spread to much or need much trimming etc.. also I would also like some advice on weed fabric. Pros and cons and if you would recommend. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you

Hard to advise without more detail. How big is the bed, what sort of soil, how much sun will it get, are you keen on particular colours. Do you want low growing plants or taller ones
Plants that spread stop weeds growing and my ideal plant is Geranium Rozanne. Doesn't need dead heading, spreads over a good area, flowers continuously from May and still in flower now. Cut it back when it's finished.
You say plants that don't need trimming but if you want flowers most will need dead heading to keep them flowering and will need cutting right down in the autumn or spring if they are perennial plants.
If you can post a photo as that helps a lot.
For me membrane is a no no unless you get a really good one not tge sort diy places sell. Weeds will root through it if you don't catch them early It stops you adding any manure or compost mulch to the soil which would help suppress weeds and benefit the soil. If you use membrane you will need to cover it with bark or gravel which adds to the cost.
