Can whitefly exist outside?

Hi,

Ive got a couple of young aubergine plants in a greenhouse. A coupe of days ago I noticed lots of whitefly on them. I brought the plants outside thinking the cold may kill them? (but hopefully not kill the plants!)

Or should I try and wipe off all the white fly? Or a detergent and water spray?
