Bare root perennials

BigladBiglad Posts: 3,040
Evening all,

Just had a dozen bare root shrubs/trees delivered. I've put them in a bucket of water with a view to potting them up later this evening. Has my research been adequate?

TIA

Thanks @philippasmith2. They left the nursery on Tuesday so I presume they were dug up then as well. I'd be happier doing it in the morning so I like your thinking ;)

I agree , leave them overnight (unless you want to go out by the light of a torch)  :)

The light from the back porch window was going to be utilised @AnniD but natural light in the morning will be better ;)

Didn't realise how big some of the roots would be - tiny little twigs above ground but masses of tangled growth below :o. I didn't have enough pots that were big enough so had to go and buy half a dozen. Thank goodness that is viewed as essential shopping ;)
