My own viburnum tinus have had the odd diseased looking branch which I usually trim off when I see them. I have not bothered to cut back the healthy branches as mine are still small and I think the pollinators like the flowers being available when other plants in the garden aren't.
Pruning group 1: Light pruning. These evergreen shrubs and deciduous trees and certain deciduous shrubs need very little pruning
and are best left to their own devices in most cases. They do not send
out vigorous shoots that need curbing. Remove diseased, damaged
congested or crossing shoots."
