I've just cut off these seed heads from my one and only poppy somniferum grown in a pot. There are plenty seeds inside, but when and what is the best way to redistribute them. Thanks.
You can either scatter them on the ground now or empty the seeds into a dry envelope and save to scatter or sow in spring. If you are able to easily recognise the seedlings I would say scattering now in borders where you wish to see the poppies is a good option. I just let my poppies self-sow every year and then pull out the seedlings/young plants I don't want in April the following year.
