Potting up a rose

peteSpeteS Posts: 963
When digging up a rose to pot up this time of year, is it best to knock/wash all the soil off the roots and treat it as a bare root, or transfer it to the pot with soil still attached...or does it not matter either way.
Also I use a 50/50 mix of JI No3 and Multi Purpose, do you think it would be beneficial to add a bit of manure to the mix as well.
Many thanks.

Hello @peteS - I don't think it matters much but I'd probably try to keep any soil on the roots. A small amount of manure well mixed in would be good to add.
