I woke up this morning to a houseplant with these black spots on it. Is it infected? If so, how does one treat it?

    I think the problems might be due to its conditions. I can see brown leaf tips.  Could the plant have been allowed to dry out at the roots previously and then given a deep soaking?  Is it in a very sunny position?
    when was if last reported into new compost? 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Yes, it dried out once This plant is a gift we received about a year ago. Do you think it ought to be placed into a new compost? Dovefromabove said:
