The bigger leaves certainly look cherry. Most of them are finished here, so it also depends where you are. They're among the earliest to colour up and drop.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Interesting suggestion. I love trees, but have never yet seen Fagus grandifolia...common name American beech anywhere in UK. Suspect I might find then in a UK Botanic garden but not in country lane in Britain.
