Plant identification please!!

Good evening,
Does anyone happen to know what the plant in the attached photo is please? We’ve acquired it from a friend but cannot look up what conditions it needs as we don’t know what it is!

    They look awfully like a Sedge seed head. Personally I would be very very careful about introducing any Sedge into my garden. Many of them are seed weeds of the first order of magnitude.

    Ah yes, spot on. I’ve just googled it. Thanks very much for the advice.. we will think again about planting it !!
