This plant is many decades old (my Mum has had it for at least 40+ years) but still flowering every year - very highly scented! Does anyone recognise what it is? Smells quite jasmine-like but doesn't look like a jasmine?
Ah yes thank you have googled hoya and definitely looks like a Hoya Australis - might even be something like subsp. rupicola which has flowers that look very similar. Thank you so much for the comments - my Mum will be so happy to find out!
Thanks I did google hoya carnosa as well but of the images I could find the flowers didn't quite look like this one. The one called rupicola seems to be the closest. I'm just amazed a houseplant like this has survived for so long - it obviously must be a tough one!
I passed on a plant of Hoya carnosa to my sister a few years ago. It originally belonged to my grandmother and we estimate it is at least 50 years old. I repotted it last year and it is flourishing. A very tough genus.
