Forsythia sp.
Will have yellow flowers in spring...you can see the flower buds there now.

It looks very much like a Forsythia.
But it probably isn’t.
Apophthegm - a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

I would say forsythia, especially as this afternoon l have cut down some of the neighbour's one that is escaping over the wall and heading for the greenhouse roof. Looked just like that.
