Hello and thank you for reading this message.

Which spider is this please, in the photo? After a search on the internet, no photos are coming up showing a spider with that white stripe on its back.

Size is about 0.8 to 1 cm long. Located in ceiling corner in shower room.

    Thank you for your reply. Looks from photos that you are right, garden spider. Webpage says that garden spider is a type of orb web spider.

    It might be one of those that has chosen a bad place to reside whilst I've been painting?  ;)

    It looks like those spiders who create ridiculous sticky webs that are very strong. Not nice to walk into. Find it a plant somewhere outside and get rid! I had a similar one with orange markings.
