Are these Heleniums coming or going?

Hi all, any Helenium gurus out there? I’m having a senior moment and can’t fathom whether the “buds” in the picture are flowers yet to develop or the remnants of spent blooms. Or a mixture of the two. Any advice much appreciated before I start deadheading that which I shouldn’t! Sorry for the blurriness.

  • Small ones....These are the flower buds.
Orange petals, brown centre larger flowers...past best...remove.

The orange flowers with petals facing down are those that have flowered/are still flowering, the green/yellow ones are the new buds  :)
  • Thanks both. Good news then, lots to come! I should clarify that I’m still sufficiently with it to know the blooms at the top :D. I’m just surprised at still having so many buds yet to come below. I guess deadheading the fading flowers will hasten their development.

I looked at this thread last night, but no pic was there. I came back to it later and there was a couple of replies but still no pic for me.
Thought I was losing the plot - that's quite possible...
I've been deadheading mine almost every day @johnnypenstemon, and it does help. I don't have a lot to do in the garden through summer, and deadheading is something I spend a bit of time on.
Great plants for later summer/autumn.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
