The best yellow floribunda bedding rose

Andrew67Andrew67 Posts: 62
I am looking to create a rose bed and want to put yellow floribunda roses in it. I want one the keeps its colour for as long as possible before fading and although scent isn't a top priority it would be a bonus. Ive narrowed it down to Korresia ( sunsprite ), All Gold, Amber queen and Golden Wedding. I have Arthur bell and absolutely fabulous in other parts of the garden so I have discounted them. Does anyone have any suggestions on which one is the best. Many thanks

Rose of the Year 2021 is Rosa Belle de Jour (Deljaupar) and might fit the bill. Yellow and good scent apparently.

Probably Korresia. It's healthy, short and basically made for bedding/formal rose gardens. I don't know how much it fades.

How high do you want them? Belle de Jour, for example, gets to 1.2 - 1.5 metres in height. It’s a fairly delicate yellow, fading to cream. It is not continuously blooming like some more traditional bedding floribundas. Mine is not particularly healthy either, but it’s new so I need to give it a chance.

A robust, near constant, very generous bloomer for me and many others in the UK is Absolutely Fabulous. The flowers do fade from a deep yellow to a pale lemon, but in a neat and attractive way, so you usually have a mix of yellows on the bush. Has a pleasant fragrance, but not very strong. However, it can get considerably larger than stated, but the advantage of that is you need less of them, possibly only one, depending on the size of your space. It’s pretty easy to prune down to desired size though.

Out of the three on your list I would probably go for Korresia too, for health and compact size, with Golden Wedding second choice. I like the pure yellow colour and the shape of the blooms on Korresia, but that really is just personal preference.

I am looking for something about 3-4 foot in height, so I will probably go with Korresia. Thanks for the replies everyone

It's a long time since I had 'All Gold' but one thing it had was an ability to hold its colour..  Korresia faded for me to a pale lemon.. I don't know Golden Wedding..

Another rose you should consider for best colour retention - so I'm reliably informed as I don't have it, is 'Golden Beauty'...
