Can anyone identify this plant growing up through geraniums please. Have cut it down once and it has regrown and is now beginning to flower. Any ideas would be very welcome. I am assuming it is a weed, but do not really know. Thanks

Maybe Eupatorium cannabinum.
When flowers open it will help.

Well that certainly looks like it. Will check again when the flowers open. Looks like it is a tall wildflower plant, so may it self seed?

We had something very similar grow in the garden this year. It was identified by iSpot as

Bilbao fleabane Conyza bilbaoana.

It looks like something that comes out of birdseed.

Quite possible #fidgetbones, the pigeons are so untidy when they get to the seed. But the photos of Eupatorium cannabinum do look similar. Would that be in birdseed?

Left this to return this year and I am almost certain it is Eupatorium cannabinum, looks nice and is flowering well at the end of summer. Probably a present from either a passing bird or other mammal, but I am grateful.
