a couple of ids please

what is this fruit please,it was in a country park orchard, the second picture has very tiny pretty flowers

    The first looks like a medlar and second could be oregano or marjoram ....do the leaves smell when you crush them?
  • thanks, chicky medlar is the name I just couldn't think of its drove me mad for days,the flower is not a herb, the stems are quite thick,I will try to get a better pic of stems,

    I couldn’t remember the name of medlar at first either - so I googled “fruit that looks like dogs arse” and bobs your uncle 🤣🤣🤣

    I wonder if the second one is tea tree, Leptospermum?

  • The first one is a medlar. The flowers in the spring, the fruit in the autumn and then the colourful foliage following on.
    Medlar jelly and jam is wonderful.
