Can't beat dahlias for long lasting impact. Only started growing them last year, haven't looked back.

I'm not normally a dahlia person, but these were a fiver each in the 'reduced half dead plant' section at B&Q with witty leaves and dying buds, so thought I'd give them a bit of TLC and see what happened, quite pleased!

So many lovely dahlias! I put some in pots for the first time this year too. Will grow more in the future

Not sure what other folk find but I think the dark leaved ones are a cut above as well.

I love them! First year in pots, then into the ground. I don't lift them and they seem to get bigger each summer.

It's my 2nd year of dahlias, but only my first year of "real" gardening, if that makes sense!

The first three images here are all of the same plant... I've been amazed watching it change from having soft, apricot coloured petals, to really bright pink ones. Magic!
