3 unknown plants in son's garden

berardeberarde Posts: 145
I've been itching to do something with my son's garden but not had opportunity until now. Fortunately there are no serious weeds so it will be easier than expected. I didn't know what these 3 plants were. The first is about 12" tall, The second  leafy one didn't seem invasive so I left them,  the third shrub is about 8 feet tall and doesn't seem to have sign of flowering on the way and looks very undistinguished to me.
Thanks

  • I think the first one may be a Luzula - a fairly tough ornamental grass which can be difficult to remove if it starts running.
The second one, if it develops rich blue flowers, looks like Alkanet (Pentaglottis)
Not sure of the last one, at a glance possibly a tall michealmas daisy?

I agree with the first one, luzula Nivea

3rd one might be a penstemon of some kind , although it's pretty massive so maybe not !
