Need to repot my orchid

I have a small orchid in pot. It has done well for several years-flowering each year. Now I think it needs repotting as some of the roots are coming through the bottom of the pot. I am a bit nervous about it and would be grateful for any advice.

I watched a demonstration by an expert at Harrogate flower show a couple of years ago. He used orchid compost which is like coarse bark. You buy it at the garden centre. He tipped the orchid out of the pot and shook out most of the old compost. He then trimmed all the dead bits off the old roots. He then put a bit of the compost in an orchid pot, put in the orchid and worked the compost around the roots, carefully. When it is potted correctly you should be able to pick the whole pot up using the orchid leaves. You only go up one size and the pot should be transparent as it's important for the roots to be in the light. Orchids like to be pot bound so don't repot too soon. I did mine without too much trouble. Once potted, water as normal using rain water if possible. Hope this helps.

Did mine in the spring and they're flowering well now with double spikes. 

They had become too dry and some roots needed to be removed. I then soaked them overnight and potted them up into one size up clear pots using orchid compost. I followed a you tube video on how to get them flowering again. Good luck, I'm sure it will be fine.
