Name that plant

Hi all,

Can anyone help me to identify this plant? Don’t think it’s flowered in the last year.

 Thanks!

Good morning rich. It looks very much like a climbing hydrangea - Hydrangea petiolaris.

As we had one poster who reposted as he thought he didn't get enough replies I will also say I agree.
They take a while to get going and flower but I hope you have plenty of space as they can get huge.

It flowers on the previous summer's growth so if you've cut it back in summer/autumn that might have stopped it from flowering.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

They also take a few years to establish and get going, so it might be that. It doesn't look like a very mature plant yet. They are beautiful when in full flow   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Yeah, I looked it up - stunning plant. Glad I didn't pull it out - thought it might be a weed at one point!
