Rose ID

I saw this rose outside my village shop for £8.  I had to have it!  No label unfortunately so does anyone ... @Marlorena ... have any idea what it is called?  I cannot stop buying roses .... when will this obsession end??  Many thanks in advance.

£8 is a good buy Ally..

'Eyes For You'.. a Hulthemia/Persica hybrid rose...  very nice, I'm sure it will do well for you..

  • Hi - a bargain! I think it is Eyes for You, but I am sure Marlorena will confirm or correct.

I have For Your Eyes Only, and love it!
  • @Marlorena @Pianoplayer. Thank you so much ..... you really do know your stuff 😃
  • @Marlorena @Pianoplayer       Ok.  I know I’m being cheeky now but I bought this one at the same time .. again £8 and again no label.  It has a subtle scent but nothing like ‘Eyes for you’.  Darker, glossy leaves, no thorns.  Any ideas?   🙏.  Will the ‘Eyes for you’ be happy in a large container?  Thanks again.
  • Obviously a very good village shop! I can't ID the second one, I'm afraid.

My Persica (For Your Eyes Only) is in a large pot (40/40cm), JI no 3/MPC, lots of sun, water and feed, and it is thriving. I think yours is also not too big a rose, so it should be fine. Enjoy them!
  • Thank you @Pianoplayer It’s a wonderful village shop .... it’s helped the community so much over the last few months so it’s nice to repay them .... especially by buying their roses 😬  I got 2 Chandos beauty for £8 each 3 weeks ago and they’re thriving too!  I’ve planted my Persica in a large pot with MPC, handful of top rose and a little FBB.  Hopefully that’ll be ok.
I’ll see if @Marlorena comes up with anything on the other one.  👍

..it's difficult to be precise with that one because there isn't anything especially unusual about it - lots of pink roses with full double blooms, but it looks to me one of the Poulsen/Renaissance roses from Denmark, called 'Amelia'... they breed roses like that, hybrid teas with glossy foliage and large round blooms..

..yes, I feel fairly confident that's Amelia from the Renaissance series of roses.. Ally..

  • @Marlorena .... thank you so, so much.  That’s got to be it!  Would it be ok in a large container or would it be better suited to the border?  Your knowledge never ceases to amaze me! 😀

Thank you @Marlorena ... it’s a lovely little village store which sells roses and perennials from a tiny little nursery that only sells via them.  I’m fast becoming a complete rose addict ...... will post some pics in the Rose category.  I’ve so much to learn but completely enjoying the process.  Thanks for your help ⭐️
