What kind of ladybird is this?

Perched on a rather poor clematis cutting.

Good? Bad? Will it eat my aphids? I have plenty to go around.😁

All ladybirds eat aphids 🥰It’s probably one of the Harlequins ... they come in many colour ways ... aliens, but they’re here ... we’ll never eradicate them
and as I said, they eat aphids so they’re our friends. 🥰

Thank you! Friendly little thing. I am an alien in this country too (my husband would say an almighty pest!) so he is welcome in my garden.;)

But only if you pick them up ... I might nip if a giant picked me up ... I might do more than nip!  I don’t think that should make us take against them 🐞

Two climbed on to my arm and nipped when I was deadheading my roses. But it was only once, and several years ago. They were probably just in a bad mood.

Blimey, that's not nice! Ty for the warning. This one seemed very benign. I picked him up and put him on my aphid-riddled lavatera. Hopefully, he'll summon his mates.

I wouldn't call it a warning. Its not like a mosquito bite. More like a minuscule yappy dog giving you a nip.
