Has anyone grown Persicaria amplexicaulis. I've heard it can be a bit of a spreader once it gets going though; for that reason I'd like to try and grow it in a pot. Any suggestions.
It will spread if happy but be controllable. I wouldn't grow it in a pot. It's not imposing enough to be a single subject but is great when allowed to mingle and cover the ground.
The foliage goes red in a good autumn and stays that way in a mild winter. The flowers open pale pink and "fade" to stronger reds and russets. Great weed suppressor and a good foil for taller plants.
