HELP - Question About Surfinia

I’ve been getting a really good show from White Surfinia in my hanging baskets, which I planted third week in May, but they are starting to look a little bit straggly now and I’m deadheading them like mad every day to keep them looking good.

QUESTION - if I took a huge leap of faith and cut them back by around 1/2 to 2/3’s now at this stage of the summer would they regrow again and re flower through to the latter part of September ???

I've sometimes had patches of aphids on surfinias when I've grown them and I've just cut out parts of the plants to get rid of them. Bits sometimes get snapped off by wind/rain/dog/postman/me - they soon grow back.
I stopped growing them because of the dead heading - it's a never ending task.
I prefer calibrachoa now as they self-clean so there's no need to dead head.
