Glow worm in garden

Glow Worm - We have never seen one of these before found it last night in our garden we’re in Bucks

    I'm not sure I knew that the UK had glow worms / fire flies.

    No fireflies in UK (I believe) but some areas (mainly chalky areas) do glow-worm walks. I went on one on Ivinghoe beacon in Herts, very interesting. The female lives in a small hole in the ground and comes out to attract males. If you pick one up, please put it back close to her hole. 
    East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.

    There’s a very good article  in The Guardian about them,  seems people will be their downfall, as with lots of other species! 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
