I'm new to gardening and trying to collect a few tools, can anyone suggest where would be a good place to buy a border fork,it would be interesting to see if there is a brand or shop that gardeners favour.
At a reasonable price would be nice.

In the absence of a Gardeners’ World review of forks - though they have done spades often enough - I would start here

    http://www.fredshed.co.uk/forksandspades.htm

I would then choose the one I liked best that was within my budget and then delve through the price comparison websites. I’d try Google Shop, eBay and Amazon and select the cheapest, including delivery, so long as the feedback on the seller was good.

If you’re especially short, tall, or of limited strength I would go to a garden centre to purchase the fork so you can test what it feels like in your hand.

Thanks I will have a good look at that,I'm sure they don't make them like they used to,I remember my dads tools lasting for years, but I've snapped so many forks over the last few years, maybe I'm just a brute! :D

Wilko do a good stainless steel boarder fork with timber handle for £15
I brought mine from there about 5 years ago and still does the job.

Thanks that's a good tip,I'm quite new to Wilko but one opened up in the next town and I like it,I've got to pop there for some bath towels and I can look for a fork while I'm there
