Hi here's the bed,now I'm not a good photographer.I so wish that I had taken a photo of before as it looked awful with the bushes that had been there for decades,I think it will look a bit better when everything settles in just like a new haircut.
I just bought a load of random plants and structured it around the 3 shrubs it wasn't supposed to be symmetrical but I suppose that's the way it ended up.It would have been nicer in a non rectangular bed but that would have meant putting a curve in the grass and I didn't want the bed getting any bigger to be honest.I just need to rectify the grass soon as it's a mess.I enjoyed the physical aspect of it,but it's time consuming and made me feel as if I neglected my mum a little(I'm her carer).
I completely planted my back garden before doing that bed so it's been a busy 6 weeks so I'm going to look forward to being in some clean clothes and having a relaxing walk to the shops next week.

Congratulations! A lot of work has gone into it. Keep watering and feeding, and enjoy it!

Thanks so do you just feed the plants that flower and just water shrubs and how often? I did see a liquid feed today?

Hi - I am not an expert - just a beginner! But I think watering newly planted things is a good idea. From what I have learnt, a watering can full per plant once or twice a week (depending on the weather) is better than a little dribble every day, as this encourages roots to grow deeper. I think putting liquid feed in the water once a week over the summer is also a good idea.

There's no real urgency about feeding, your soil is in good condition and will give your plants what they need. Agree about the watering though, give them a thorough soak when you plant them and then weekly until they're established (more if it's hot and dry).

Thanks that sounds like good advice
